Minnesota Route
Permit application filed January 19, 2010 – Alma,
Wisconsin, is the proposed Mississippi River crossing location.
All landowners, regardless
if they have property within a route option,
should continue to attend meetings and participate
in the public process. There have been instances
in Minnesota where the Commission has certified
routes not proposed in the utilities’ Route
Permit application.
What’s Next
- February 2010 – Minnesota
Public Utilities Commission determined Route
Permit application complete.
- April
2010 (anticipated) – public
environmental scoping meetings. Landowners in
the project area will be mailed notification
of this meeting.
- June
2010 (anticipated) – Certificate
of Public Convenience and Necessity application
filing with the Public Service Commission of
Wisconsin.
- A Route Permit
application for the North Rochester-Chester
161 kV line will be filed separately at a future
date.
The Hampton-Rochester-La
Crosse line will improve reliability for the Twin
Cities, Rochester and La Crosse areas, as well
as improve access to generation in the south and
east part of Minnesota.
