South Dakota route corridor map for Brookings County-Hampton 345 kV transmission line project

ABOUT THE BROOKINGS COUNTY-HAMPTON PROJECT

The Brookings County-Hampton project is a double circuit 345 kV transmission line (some segments constructed as double circuit capable) being built between the Brookings County Substation near White, S.D., and the Hampton Substation in Hampton, Minn. A Route Permit was granted by the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission on July 15, 2010, except for the route segment between the Cedar Mountain and Helena substations. On February 3, 2011, the MN PUC approved the Minnesota River crossing at Belle Plaine. This approval finalized the last segment of the project route between the Cedar Mountain substation (Renville County) and the Helena substation (Scott County).
