Crosse 345-kV transmission line project route
options
Since filing a Certificate
of Need application with the Minnesota Public Utilities
Commission (MN PUC) in August 2007, the individual
CapX2020 project teams have been meeting with landowners,
local and state officials, community leaders, agencies,
environmental and other interested parties to collect
input for the development of route options that will
be included in a Minnesota Route Permit application.
The Hampton-Rochester-La Crosse project team is moving
toward filing a Minnesota Route Permit application
in fall 2009.
Similar review, permit and approval processes are
required by the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin.
The state regulatory agencies make the final determination
on routes. Project review and approval processes
are also required by Rural Utilities Service and
other state and federal agencies.
